Quick answer
Follow the live sleep and warning prompts. Treat a forced wake-up as a new encounter, and distinguish ordinary pet actions from risky ending triggers.
§Settle before night#
The recorded first-week run changes the room lighting at night and presents sleep or wake-up messages. A box is one visible resting location. Keep the current prompt readable and avoid treating a familiar location as safe in every encounter.

§When the game wakes you#
A Day 4 recording shows “You jolt awake!” and warns that something got out of bed and is not Marnie. The green HUNT panel specifically says to wake the real Marnie by meowing right by her bed, with a 0/6 counter. Find her sleeping position and use Meow nearby while watching the counter. The instruction also warns that the creature hears you. This is one observed encounter, so re-read the objective on another night.

More details and exceptions
5 sections§Read the hiding instruction#
A recording shows a viewpoint under the bed with both a Sleep here prompt and a Meow control. Follow the encounter objective before choosing to sleep again. At 3/6 and 5/6 the message confirms Marnie has stirred. Completion then says Marnie sat upright and turned on the light. Hiding helps with pursuit, and does not replace a remaining hunt objective.

§Windows and curiosity#
A dark figure appears outside a kitchen window in the recorded run. Great Escape, Peeping Marnie and Look Up have official curiosity-related clues. For a normal clear, avoid experimenting with suspicious windows and visitors until you are ready to lose the run.

§Plan sleeping-related badges#
Best Friends refers to a lap every night from Day 3. Pet Pile asks players to sleep in the same location on the last night. These hints do not establish an exact multiplayer minimum or a universal input sequence; verify the current prompt and coordinate the final-night location with friends.
§When every lamp goes out#
A separate Day 6 encounter says every lamp has gone out and asks the player to switch two lamps back on. The visible counter is 1/2 and the text says the creature hates light. Another warning says it can see the pet and tells the player to run out of sight or hide; a hide lasts only a few seconds. Finish the current light objective while monitoring the threat.

§Recognizing the wrong Marnie#
An in-game loading tip says that if Marnie’s face looks wrong, it is not Marnie: get close and press Meow to hiss at it. This is a visible game instruction, and does not establish every possible impostor appearance. Read the active warning before approaching a figure.
